Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE), the specialized Licensing and Merchandising division of Cartoon Network, is entering into publishing domain in India with plans of introducing books based around CN properties such as Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls
, Dexter’s Laboratory and Johnny Bravo. These story books, activity books and comics will not only be in English but CNE also has plans for editions in regional languages as well. The company is also in advanced talks for entering the Home Video market with its library of titles in the next two months.

Speaking to AnimationXpress.com Jibi George, Associate Director, Cartoon Network Enterprises- India & South Asia shared, “There is strong demand for kids’ merchandise or publishing in India, right from Ben 10 to Galli Galli Sim Sim, all our merchandise initiatives across properties have been a successful and the demand has been growing yearly. We are moving into the publishing business in a significant way in India and in order to extend Cartoon Network on air content into print form with 150 new books have been developed in New York. Locally we are also developing a range for M.A.D (stands for Music, Art & Dance. This is a seven time national/international award winning POGO’s Original Production show) show.”
