A lockwire or safety wire is used in both the aviation and racing industries to provide extra protection for vital fasteners. It helps to keep the fasteners tight and prevents them loosening and critical parts falling off. A safety wire comes in different materials and different gauges and this depends on the use to which it will be put. Usually, for aircraft maintenance, stainless steel safety wires are used. Goodyear Tundra tires that were originally used only on the Goodyear blimp have now been modified to be used on aircrafts too.

It is a very cost effective alternative to other kinds of aviation tires, although an FAA approval is required before they can be installed on your aircraft. These tires are strong, durable and tough and are commonly used on the ‘Piper PA-12’ and ‘Piper PA-18 Super Club’ aircrafts. The cockpit panels on aircrafts are extremely vital for the pilot. The pilot uses the cockpit panel to control vertical speed, altitude, heading, and speed, vertical and lateral navigation. It is found on the front of the aircraft and the pilot sits in front of it. This panel also has the autopilot controls that give the pilots short respites during long haul flights.
