My parents have been having a big sort out. They have decided that they are at that time of life when they need to clear out all of the clutter and decide who they want to leave all of their items to so that they can feel happy that no one will have to get stressed about clearing their house and also that there will no arguments when it is done. I am quite pleased that they are doing this.
I do not want to think of them passing away but the fact that we will not have to worry about who has what at a stressful time like that is good. They have started off in their garage and have cleared off all of their garage organizer and are working through every item thinking about what it is who gave it to them and whether they will need it again. It is amazing the hard work that they are putting in to it and I have been working with them at times helping them to remember the history behind certain things. We are also writing information about each of the heirlooms and putting it with it so that stories can be passed on with goods. I am even helping them with photo storage and labelling each picture. It is hard work!
